Do you know of a local high school student who is college-bound and intends to pursue design as a degree? Or do you know of a local college student who is currently enrolled and working toward a degree in design?
Tell them about AIGA DC’s Continuum Fund Scholarship! Application deadline is April 3, 2009.
THE DESIGN CONTINUUM FUND
An AIGA DC Endowment for Design Education
The Washington, DC, metropolitan area is home to a large number of disadvantaged students, most of whom have limited access to education in the arts and even more limited opportunities to pursue a degree in design. By participating in AIGA DC's Design Continuum Fund, you can play a direct role in creating much-needed opportunities for the next generation of designers.
There are many ways to get involved with the Fund. You can make a charitable donation at any of our programs, or simply download and submit our pledge card with the amount of your choosing. All proceeds go towards supporting the annual scholarship program or become part of the nest egg for our future endowment. Remember, your donation to the Design Continuum Fund is considered a charitable donation—make your donation now and utilize the tax benefit this year (2009).
For information on how to make your pledge, contact Carolyn Belefski, AIGA DC’s Continuum Chair, at continuum@aigadc.org. For information on volunteer opportunities for the Fund, contact Erin Greene, AIGA DC’s Volunteer Manager, at volunteers@aigadc.org.

Among the scholarships’ primary aims are increasing diversity in the creative professions and fostering social and environmental responsibility in the artists, designers and studios of tomorrow. In keeping with this philosophy, scholarship recipients are selected not only for their ability and need, but also for their demonstrated commitment to positive change in the larger community. AIGA Washington, DC Chapter
Nestled alongside the Potomac River and at the center of a dynamic design community is the Washington, DC Chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design. AIGA DC is the organization that designers from Maryland, Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia look to first for information, communication, inspiration, and representation across the arc of their careers. We are an ever-changing community, continually growing stronger and closer as colleagues, neighbors and friends. In 1971, we started our humble beginnings as a craft and design club of 79 members. Today, AIGA DC is rapidly approaching our goal of 1,000 members. From college students to firm principals to local service providers, everyone can find a home in AIGA DC to learn, grow and excel.

THANK YOU 2008 CONTINUUM CIRCLE MEMBERS
By way of an annual merit-based scholarship program, The Design Continuum Fund was created to support local design-minded students, offering them financial assistance to pursue their design education.
